Real-world learning experiences for homeschool families across Texas

I started Field Trip Fridays because families like mine deserved access to meaningful, hands-on learning experiences and a community to share them with. Every child should have a chance to learn, explore, and make friends along the way.

Education without walls, community without barriers

Field Trip Fridays connects homeschool families across Texas with hands-on learning experiences and a community where every child belongs, regardless of economic circumstance.

We partner with museums, farms, businesses, and community organizations to bring K-12 homeschool students face-to-face with experiences that textbooks can’t replicate, while building friendships and community that last well beyond the field trip itself.

Learn Together

Homeschool students grades K-12 explore community destinations, guided by experts and alongside peers who share their curiosity.

Community

More than events, it’s the friendships formed along the way and the network that makes the homeschool journey feel less like going it alone.

Discovery

We put kids in front of new instruments, new ideas, and new places, creating the conditions for moments that stay with them forever.

What five years of showing up looks like:

Since September 2021, Field Trip Fridays has grown from one family’s idea into one of Texas’ most active homeschool communities.

Here’s what that looks like in real numbers.

13,500+ families in our network

Field Trip Fridays families have explored hundreds of destinations across Texas, from working farms and science museums to local businesses and cultural landmarks. Every trip is an investment in a child’s education and a community’s future.

Volunteers

No child left on the sidelines.

Our Field Trips for All program has provided financial assistance to 567 children who otherwise could not afford to participate. Because we believe a family’s economic circumstances should never determine what a child gets to experience.

What we saw,
and why we acted

Homeschool families are dedicated, resourceful, and deeply invested in their children’s education. But access, cost, and community don’t always come easy, and no family should have to figure it out alone.

Field Trip Fridays was built to address those obstacles directly, so that no family’s circumstances determine what their child gets to experience.

Cost

Field trip costs add up fast. Our Field Trips for All program ensures finances never determine whether a child gets to participate.

Isolation

Homeschooling can feel lonely without the right community. Families in our network never have to navigate the journey alone.

Access

Not every family knows what opportunities exist or how to find them. We curate and organize experiences so families can simply show up and learn.

Community

Children thrive alongside peers. We create consistent, recurring opportunities for homeschool kids to build a sense of belonging.
