Last week we had a real treat with @dallasglassart! ?

We got a special presentation from @carlynraydesigns, an expert in the art of glassblowing. We learned how molten glass transforms into beautiful works of art through heat, gravity, and creativity ?✨

It was amazing to watch the process up close and see how science and art come together!

On Friday, we set out on our very first Homeschool Day Trip — and what an adventure it was! ? Thank you to everyone who joined us. Our charter bus took us from Dallas to San Antonio for a guided tour of @naturalbridgecaverns, where we explored stunning cave formations and learned all about geology in action. From there, we headed to San Marcos for a wetland tour and a glass-bottom boat ride with @themeadowscenter at Texas State University. It was incredible to see the crystal-clear spring fed by groundwater beneath us!

We finished the day with dinner and playtime at @hatcreekburgers (Woodway) before heading home.

Thank you to all of our sponsors who helped to make this trip come to life - @activategames - Dallas (University Park), @alleycatsburleson, C.K.C. Massage, @cosm, @dallasglassart, @hiltonanatole, @letsroam, Lisa Renee' Photography, @okaeri_cafe, @ripleysbelieveitornot, @theblokclimbing, TG Steakhouse, @utaplanetarium, and @yobowl.carrollton.

Thank you to @gametimetransportation, and our wonderful driver, Miguel, for getting us to and from our adventures safely and comfortably! ?

We hope you will join us on our next Homeschool Day Trip! ?

We are starting our field trip year off HOT! ?

Today, Field Trip Fridays learners embarked on a virtual journey to Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula for an up-close exploration of a volcano during eruption.

Each child had the opportunity to pilot the drone as we discovered in real-time how volcanic activity shapes our planet's geography.

Thanks to our expert guide and @natureeyeco for this incredible learning experience.

We achieved the closest possible view of the volcano—even closer than the news helicopters flying overhead! We had to be careful not to melt the drone!

Here are some of the photos taken by learners.

It's not every day that you get to fly over an active volcano, but we did thanks to @natureeyeco!

Children took drone training and took turns flying the drone live in Grindavik, Iceland at Reykjanes Peninsula. We learned facts about Iceland and volcanoes from our expert guide on the ground, Johann. An incredible experience from the comforts of our homes.

We visited @salt.light.collective for a sweet and savory baking class. The children learned kitchen rules and made Berries with Cream and Cheesy Pinwheels from scratch!

Thank you to @sixthflrmuseum for hosting a group of our Teen Learners for a day of learning about President John F. Kennedy.

The Teens worked in groups during a workshop: Conflicting Evidence: 24 Hours after the Kennedy Assassination. The Teens became crime scene investigators, evaluating evidence found within the first 24 hours of the assassination of President Kennedy. By studying primary sources and images, Learners worked to evaluate the accuracy and gain a better understanding of the historic events of November 22, 1963.

We are looking forword to returning for more middle and high school workshops!
